The chapel was originally Eileen’s bedroom, where the foundation community of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor witnessed an apparition of Our Lady in 1916. The chapel was consecrated on 23 August 1932. In his homily, Archbishop Michael Sheehan, said, “I am happy indeed to have the privilege of offering the first Holy Mass in your chapel and of leaving the Blessed Sacrament with you. I know that while Our Lord is here with you, He will never be lonely.” Eileen’s remains were transferred to the chapel in 1936. At the time, her body was claimed to be incorrupt. Please contact Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor if you would like to visit our chapel.
